Our story
The captivating history of our company dates back to 1894, with Auguste Labiau, a craftsman and mead maker based in Bonsecours. Driven by his passion for creating new beverages, Auguste acquired a still and moved to Wiers, where he embarked on the development of an unprecedented aperitif. After numerous trials of blends and distillations, he succeeded in creating a liqueur with subtle aromas of plants and fruits, named AMER LABIAU, in homage to its founder.
The artisanal tradition continues with Auguste's son, Marcel Labiau, and then with the family of Jacques Bourdon, his son-in-law, who takes over in the next generation. In 1958, during the construction of the Blaton-Péronnes canal, our distillery was forced to relocate and found refuge just a few steps from its original location, in a sawmill operated by the Bourdon family.
In the 1980s, Pierre Bourdon, Jacques's son, decided to inject new energy into the family business. In 1986, he undertook a thorough modernisation by building a new facility and installing a semi-automatic bottling line, which is still in operation today.
Today, it is with passion that Pierre Bourdon ensures the continuity of our family business. Each family member contributes to the production of our 100% natural artisanal liqueurs, thus perpetuating a century-old legacy of quality and craftsmanship.
For over a century, our company has been committed to offering exceptional artisanal liqueurs made with natural ingredients, and to preserving the reputation for quality earned over the years. Come and discover our story and taste our unique creations, symbols of a proudly preserved family heritage.
